Rail Travel Planning & Real Time Information:

http://www.brfares.com/ – BR Fares is an independent website that allows expert users to fully explore the variety of fares offered by the train companies in Great Britain, without having to plan a journey or specify times and trains.

http://traintimes.org.uk/ - Accessible UK train enquiries for times & fares. Nice feature for saving common searches as simple hyperlinks/bookmarks.  Also has a a live map of trains, showing approximate positions of trains on approach to a particular station. There’s a live Tube map too.

http://www.opentraintimes.com/ - Open Train Times takes train information from Network Rail using their real-time data feeds service. Includes various train describer maps showing positions of all trains along selected busy routes.

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/ - Rail information across the British rail network bringing together a variety of data sources including Network Rail timetables,  train describer signalling feeds and London Underground’s Trackernet. Mobile apps are also available for iPhone and Android.
